Electrical Load Calculator
Enter appliance input watts and quantities to estimate connected load and operating current.
Use actual rated electrical input watts from appliance nameplates. Example values are editable estimates. All appliances are assumed to run simultaneously. Three-phase current assumes balanced loading and line-to-line voltage. Single-phase uses line-to-neutral voltage. Starting current, phase imbalance and harmonics are not included.
Planning estimate only. Cable, breaker and sanctioned-load selection require assessment by a qualified electrical professional.

Worked example and formula
The editable example contains ten 12 W lights, four 75 W fans and four 200 W computers: 120 + 300 + 800 = 1,220 W. At 230 V and power factor 0.9, single-phase current = 1,220 ÷ (230 × 0.9) = 5.89 A. For a balanced 415 V three-phase input, current = 1,220 ÷ (√3 × 415 × 0.9) = 1.89 A. These example watts are not measured appliance ratings. Current is an operating estimate, not a breaker or cable selection.
